Phyllis has created the following illustration to explain her philosophy
about her relationship with her Clients and the legal system.
The legal System is like a Jungle in that, to most people, it is
full of dangerous and unfamiliar territory.
When Phyllis accepts a Client's case, she becomes a Jungle
Guide. Her job is to take the Client from point A to point B through that Jungle (such
as from the beginning of a divorce through a Judgment of divorce etc.).
In her role of Guide through the
jungle, she helps the Client with specific tasks.

The Tour through the Jungle belongs to the Client. The Client hires
the Guide because the Guide is familiar with the Jungle and has made the trek many times
before. During the Tour the Client can fire the Guide; the Client can fail to follow the
Guide's advice; or unpredictable events can occur. The Guide's job is to simply go through
the Jungle with the Client and try to protect that Client from the Jungle hazards. |
